Boudoir and Your Privacy

It is normal to have privacy questions about your boudoir session! If you live in the Columbus area and have thought about booking a boudoir photography experience but are unsure about how you will be protected in regard to your images staying private, read on.

In short: your privacy is of the utmost importance to me as a boudoir photographer. I don’t do anything my clients don’t want me to do – before, during or after our time together.

If you’ve visited my website or Instagram, you’ve likely seen many images I’ve taken of boudoir clients. How does that align with your privacy?

The answer is simple: we can be as private or as public as you feel comfortable.

To show my work and what it looks like, some of the images you see online are with professional models that have signed model releases, giving me permission to share the photos I have taken of them.

Others are clients that are proud of their sessions and have agreed to let me share photos of their sessions. As a photographer, this is a great honor, because it means the client is proud of the images we created together, they want to help support my work, and they want to encourage potential clients like you, that you can give yourself this opportunity too! However, it is NEVER required that a client who books with me share their photos on my website or social media platforms.

Before your session, I’ll ask you your comfort level in regard to image sharing. There is no “right” or “wrong” answer, so answer honestly and rest assured that both your boudoir photography experience and the who sees the photos are up to you. It is also important to note that you can change your mind too.

I will ask if you’d like the photos kept completely between you and me, if you would like to sign a full release of the images (this means that I can share the photos of you online), or a partial release where you allow for the sharing of certain images that you allow, and the rest are kept private.

Some images are meaningful for a client who is taking photos for a special someone and only wants us and that person to see them, but other photos during the session are fine to share. Other times, a client will enter their session a little reluctant but fall in love with how they look and want to show off how beautiful they look!

Each person has a different relationship with privacy, and as a boudoir photographer, honoring that is my first priority. If you have questions about privacy and working with me, get in touch and let’s talk about it!
