Bridal Boudoir: The Ultimate Gift for Yourself and Your Partner
One of my favorite styles of boudoir photography is bridal boudoir.
I happen to always think that any occasion is a good reason to book a boudoir session, but weddings are especially important.
For the first few years I was a photographer, my work involved shooting lots of weddings. It was here that I saw that there was so much beauty in all the little details that a bride puts into her special day. I also saw that it could be a lot of pressure for brides, especially to please the people she loves most.
When brides-to-be come to me for a boudoir session, they are making a decision – on purpose – to take time to celebrate themselves, BY themselves. Weddings are exciting, but they’re also stressful, and often during wedding planning, brides don’t get a lot of time to focus on their own self-care.
Bridal boudoir sessions can absolutely help create some photos to be made into a beautiful gift for a spouse, but the experience itself helps a client to enjoy herself as a bride.
They bring veils, bridal lingerie, their engagement ring, their bridal shoes, and anything that is meaningful to them that they want to include.
Bridal boudoir sessions are a statement that a bride’s body and sexuality is always her own, and always belongs to her, even when she marries someone else.
Have you considered a bridal boudoir session of your own? If not, the time to take care of you, and enjoy celebrate being a bride in a solo setting, can help you to return to the details of your big day with a newfound sense of calm and confidence.
A great time to schedule your bridal boudoir session can be once you’ve procured your veil (if you decide to have one) and some bridal lingerie. However, some brides love to have their boudoir sessions in a more laid-back setting where we work together to make a little nod to her wedding. A sentimental item from her future spouse, a simple white slip or bra and panty set, or even carefully-covered, tasteful nudes where your natural female form and engagement ring set the stage, are all clever ideas to make your session tailored to your unique personality.
And of course, even though the focus is on you, you can create a gorgeous keepsake for your future spouse using your favorite photos from your session. I have heirloom boxes and photo albums available for multiple photos that can be kept on a nightstand, on a bookshelf or discreetly in a drawer, and for a bolder option, a stretched canvas print of you would look great in their home office or man cave!
